kathy clark is god

i am marinated in ennui, a victim of north carolina and wal-mart and red clay and briars.  the obligatory mention of bodily functions and nascar, war isn't hell, this is.  the highlight of my day yesterday was to get a call from my mother requesting my presence in the fatback section of harris-teeter so i could stand red-faced in line.  miss melting-pot cashier asked if i had my card, i wonder if she has hers and i wonder how often there's a sale on fatback.  not this day.

i was much more content to listen to wqfs and to the charms of their 6 to 8 tuesday dj.  love at first sight is possible, especially on an island, but i do wonder how many people really listen to anyone anymore.  if a microphone were pushed in front of me, there would be bodily functions, many "uhs" and maybe a nag about restrictor plate racing.  it won't wash off.

kathy gives me something to live for, someone to believe in.  i know what i'll be doing next tuesday.  do you?
